The short article titled “Efficacy and safety of 88% phenol application versus cryotherapy in repigmentation of idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis: A prospective study” published in Clinical Dermatology Review, on pages 49-53, Volume 5, Issue 1, 2021,[1] is being retracted because it is a duplicate publication of an article titled “Efficacy and safety of 88% phenol application versus cryotherapy in repigmentation of idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis: A comparative study” published in Journal of Pakistan Association of Dermatologists, on pages 261-266, Volume 30, Issue 2, 2020.[2]
Plagiarism, fabrication, unethical or redundant publication violates the editorial policy of Clinical Dermatology Review, which follows best practice guidelines given by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) mentioned on the Information for Authors and as codified in the signed statements made by the authors regarding the copyright of their work.
